Here at Balboa Baptist Church, we offer two distinct services every Sunday morning in which believers of various backgrounds can meet together to praise our great God through music and be challenged to grow through faithful and sound preaching that focuses on the salvation offered through Jesus.
Whether you prefer traditional hymns with a choir or newer songs led by a band, we have a service that will fit you and your family. The sermon is the same in both services, with the only differences being the location and the style of music. Childcare is available during both services for ages kindergarten and below.

Traditional Service - 8:45 a.m.
Our Traditional Worship service takes place in the Worship Center every Sunday at 8:45 am. The music in the traditional service is mostly traditional hymns and gospel songs led by the Celebration Choir with piano, organ, handbells and orchestra.
We incorporate prayer, soloists, vocal ensembles, scripture reading, giving and a sermon that is preached by our lead pastor, Dr. Denny Wright.
Contemporary Service - 11:00 a.m.
Our Contemporary Worship Service takes place every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. in our Outreach Center. The singing in this service is led by a band consisting of guitars, drums, bass, keys/piano, and three or four singers. It is comprised mostly of modern worship songs, while still including a modernized hymn here and there. It includes all elements of Biblical Christian worship including, prayer, scripture reading, sound Biblical teaching and singing.
There is also always a variety of delicious hot coffee available in the lobby of the Outreach Center before the service. There is no specific dress code. The pastors and worship leaders will usually be in jeans. So, feel free to come as you are!
The goal of this service is to lead people of all ages in worshipping the Lord in a style that feels modern and vibrant while still holding fast to the unchanging truths of scripture.
