I look at people, culture, and the world from a Biblical World View. Secular Humanism is the opposite. Its new catch-word is authenticity. It is the idea of being authentic to one’s inner self and feelings, to look deep inside yourself and become who you think you are.

The most famous verse in the Bible is “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV).

My ten-year-old grandson is a smart guy. If I told him that no matter what he does in life, just live life to the fullest and you will always have a billion dollars in the bank, would he believe such a tall tale? I would hope not. If I told you that no matter what you do in this life, you will go to heaven, would you believe such a tall tale? Again, I would hope not. But this foolish belief is considered wise by some of the smartest people in the world.

My grandkids like fishing with Pawpa. A fish in the water is agile and quick. In its natural environment it can be a fish. But a fish out of the water flounces, gasps, dies, and stinks. Selfishness is like that. When you are selfish you flounce around helplessly, cannot function as God created you, and you die to the life God intends for you. When you become self-fish, you stink, I stink.
