Jesus is the Only Way

Jesus is the Only Way

“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20 CSB).

Spiritual beliefs are on the rise. These beliefs are in all kinds of things from aliens to evolution to self-realization. So many would say that all we need to do is live a life of faith, just put your faith in whatever you want to believe in. Just be true to your heart.

But the Bible says that we are to live by faith “in the Son of God.” This is a singular faith. This is a faith in Someone other than yourself. This is a faith in Someone beyond you. True faith is in only one Person, Jesus Christ.

Yes, I know that offends some people. But faith in Jesus Christ is exclusive. Jesus is the one true revelation of God in the flesh. No other pretenders are allowed in this relationship.

My wife expects a monogamous relationship with her alone. No others are allowed even close. She is my only wife and no one else is allowed to have that intimacy. We pledged ourselves to each other in 1977 until death parts us.

Jesus Christ expects His followers to be do devoted to Him alone so that all other relationships are a distant second place. Even a relationship with yourself. He expects us to deny ourselves, die to self, and allow Him to live in and through us. Why? Because He is the One “who loved me and gave himself for me.”

No, you cannot create your own belief system, in yourself, or some other man-made religion. But rather you must heed the words of Jesus when He said, “Truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much fruit. The one who loves his life will lose it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life” (John 12:24-25 CSB).
