It's None of Your Business

I often introduce myself. “Hi, my name’s Denny.” I ask a few other questions like: “Where did you move from?” and “How long have you lived here?”

Then I ask, “What is your faith background?” One day I was told, “I don’t think it's any of your business.” I responded that Jesus told me to tell others the great news of God’s love. God wants everyone to live forever. God provided the way by sacrificing His Son Jesus on the cross for our sin. Then God raised Jesus from the dead to prove that all Jesus did is true.

Yes, faith is very personal, but it is not private. God will make every thought known. Your faith is His business. If you reject His Son, then you fail the faith test. So God made it His business when he gave His Son for you.

God made your faith my business when he commanded me to tell you this Good News of salvation. I believe the most loving thing I can do is tell someone how to be saved. If you were in a burning house, would you want me to tell you the good news that there’s a way to escape?

I am just a beggar telling another beggar where to find bread. This is an act of love. Judgment of your private life is God’s job. He will do that soon enough. But my job is to tell you the Great News that you can live forever, never die, be forgiven, and have a loving relationship with God that is real and personal.

Millions of Christians have been imprisoned, persecuted, and put to death for obeying God’s command to tell the Good News of Jesus. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me. Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven.” (Matthew 5:10-12 CSB)
