In Case You Missed the Concert

The great contralto singer, Marian Anderson, gave a concert in a small Nebraska town. It was the musical high spot of the winter. After the concert she returned to the hotel and approached the hotel desk. She asked the girl behind the desk if she has attended the concert. The girl, a student, working her way through college, explained to the great artist how her job kept her from attending and her deep disappointment in not being able to come. Then followed an unforgettable moment. The world-renowned singer stood in the lobby, unaccompanied, and sang for the young college student the “Ave Maria.”

The night Jesus was born, the Shepherds got a private concert from angels. “Shepherds were staying out in the fields and keeping watch at night over their flock. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped tightly in cloth and lying in a manger.’ Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people he favors” (Luke 2:8-14 CSB).

God sent His supernatural agents to announce that His unique, supernatural Son had come in the flesh. Some consult astrology, crystals, palm readers, fortune tellers, superstitions, and buy lottery tickets, yet miss out on the one true supernatural person who can save them. Jesus is the Son of God.

God sent Jesus to be the Savior for everyone. Do you think you are too low, too sinful, too average, or too far gone? Jesus came for you. You are important to God. Accept your acceptance. Jesus came for everyday folk. His salvation is not automatic though, you must believe Him and confess Him as Savior and Lord.

The heaven-renowned Son of God, Prince of Peace, Wonderful Counselor came to our lobby and gave a concert of grace and peace. Receive Him.
