Christians Seen as Barriers to Progress

Hostility is growing toward those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. Believers in Jesus are seen as barriers to progress. Our society is bent on progressing with the immoral revolution. Christians stand for biblical morality, that is, one man married to one woman, who are to be faithful to each other.

Followers of Jesus believe in Truth personified in Jesus Himself, what he did, and said. This is in direct opposition to our culture’s insistence that all truth is relative. So you believe all truth is relative? Are you absolutely sure all truth is relative?

Christians believe Jesus when he said that He is the only way to heaven (John 14:6). This too is seen as a barrier to progress in a society that accepts universalism. Our society sees Christians’ insistence on Jesus’ teaching of an exclusive way to heaven as bigoted and discriminatory. The bottom line is that every belief is exclusive in one way or another.

The faithful apostle and trusted elder, John, said, “Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist” (2 John 7 CSB). So here’s the deal. Do you believe Jesus (The Savior) is the Christ (God’s Messiah) and that He is fully God who came in the flesh (a human) and now He is Lord?

Some say Jesus was a ghost and did not have a real body. Others teach that he was a real human but was not also God. So here is what you must decide, is Jesus Lord. If He’s Lord, then all he said is true. If you do not believe He is Lord, then you are left with some type of humanistic teaching that dead ends in a place separated from life, joy, light, peace, comfort, and God … forever.

Jesus said, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). At the same time, the apostle John tells us to not let deceivers speak into Christ’s church (2 John 10). So for those who see Christ as the problem, we, His followers, are determined to love you and pray for you, yet not believe your false teachings.
