“So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18 CSB). Electricity courses through the walls of your home in wires hidden and exiting at light switches and outlets. It is invisible yet we can see it arc or in a light bulb. We can see it in thunderstorms as lightning flashes for an instant across the sky.
According to Wikipedia, an electric arc discharge is an electrical breakdown of a gas that produces a prolonged electrical discharge. The current through a medium such as air produces a plasma, which may produce visible light. Jesus is the light of the world. He is the visible manifestation of our Creator God and His Father.
In Jesus see the love and power of the unseen God in the numerous times Jesus healed someone and raised the dead. We see God’s eternal wisdom and insight in the parables Jesus told and in His teachings.
As Jesus hung on the Cross for six hours, darkness came upon the earth during those last three hours as He suffered for our rebellion and sins. So we see the dark powers of evil that kill, steal, and destroy. But ultimately we see the unseen in the power of God that exceeds all electrical and nuclear powers combined in the eye witnessed resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
To deny Jesus as Lord is to deny The Light of the world. He has revealed your Creator God who loves you and desires a relationship with you. Some say that faith in any religion will get you to heaven as long as you are sincere. That is heresy and a lie. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 CSB).
Heaven will be a place of light where all the unseen will be revealed for an eternity. Hell will be a place of darkness and regret. Make Jesus Lord and focus of your life.
