We have seven people from our church who are part of the Master'Singers of Arkansas. Glenda and Dennis Ford, Steve Matthews, Glenda Seabaugh and Wayne and Nancy Trull along with Pastor Jim Raney. The Master'Singers have been invited back to the country of Ukraine to serve with Evangelist Michael Gott on mission for Christ April 16-27, 2018. [See Video] In 2014, they had the privilege to sing to just over 12,000 people and there were 4,432 recorded decisions to be a serious follower of Jesus. They are so excited that the door is open again for 2018!
Who are the Arkansas Master'Singers? The Master'Singers are music ministers/worship pastors, directors, accompanists, choir/orchestra members, lead pastors, other staff members and staff spouses from Arkansas Baptist churches in every corner of the state and all places in between. The Master'Singers have also served in Guatemala, Germany, Brazil and Russia, as well as ministry tours to several states in the U.S. Each member participates voluntarily, and at their own expense, as we sing and share the gospel with churches throughout our state.
Michael Gott has a long relationship and deep passion for the people of Ukraine and has taken groups like The Master'Singers and the Singing Men of Texas, on many similar mission trips. His highly respected relationship with the pastors of Ukraine make our ministry a crusade with concerts and preaching in more than 7 cities in one week. The local church pastors and their congregations are prepared and eager to follow up on each recorded decision that is made during these mission trips. Kiev and surrounding cities with hundreds of thousand populations will be our ministry. As in 2014 the Eastern part of the country is still in conflict with Russia and is too dangerous for us to go.
As we move toward our April 16-27, 2018 ministry trip, we have about 80 Master'Singers to participate. This trip is a demanding one. They will travel daily, sometimes long distances, on very poor roads to sing in concert halls in Ukraine that seat 1000 or more. Each of the venues will be filled to overflowing capacity as has been the case on EVERY mission trip to this country in great need. They will sing incredible songs that present the gospel while the lyrics are translated on large screens. Michael Gott will make a clear and passionate presentation of the gospel at each place when we offer the hope in Christ Jesus. While there are those who will write "NO" or "NEVER" on their decision cards as they did on the last trip, there will be thousands who will say "YES" to being a serious follower of Jesus.
Every Master'Singer that participates will pay an estimated $2,600 (the amount is estimated until flights are actually booked as that price can vary). That will cover EVERYTHING (meals, lodging, transportation, etc.). There may be people to whom that may not seem like a lot of money, but for most of the Master'Singers, it is a daunting amount! There are many who are making the commitment to go without knowing where they will get the funds. They simply know that they feel led to say "yes!".
Thank you for taking the time to read this about the April mission trip. Thank you for praying for each person who desires with all of their heart to go and serve. Thank you for encouraging and supporting each Master'Singer. A detailed prayer itinerary will be available prior to the trip, as well as an online update as the mission occurs.
